Have these guys been on The OC yet?

Jim Yoshii Pile-Up's "Pull Us Apart" is a mellow rock tribute to unhappy love affairs, suicide, blood on the sidewalk, etc. etc. The music is also beautiful and wisfully romantic. Starting with "A Toast to the Happy Couple, " surely the last song to be requested by an optimistic bride, the disc moves through songs with cooly subversive lyrics like "low rent horror," and "R.E.V.U.L.S.I.O.N."

These are the kinds of songs that definitely require a second listen. On first hear, (the one when you can't quite catch the lyrics) they sound beautifully romantic. On second listen, well on second listen, I wanted to call their mothers and inquire about how their sons are feeling these days.

Pile-Up is a musically proficient band with some great lyrics and they are blessed with a velvet-voiced lead singer, vocalist Paul Gozenbach. And this is definitely a band in search of a movie sex scene; they would have been perfect as backgroun music in Closer. So keep your ear tuned to this band, you will be hearing from them.
