“ROMANTIC LITTLE THINGS”
Designer Jill Anderson

Written by Janet Perisa

Of all the vintage shops engrossing the East Village, Jill Anderson’s boutique stands-out in both her apparel designs and interior decor. It goes without question that one cannot pass by the store without taking at least one quick rummage through her hip collection. The North Dakota-born designer has a knack for reinventing classic styles and infusing them with a contemporary edge.

The Jill Anderson boutique, located at 331 East 9th Street, romanticizes the Victorian era by creating garments that are reminiscent of that opulent period. Clothing racks lined with shimmering, smooth satins and lace trimmed skirts, bring about a daily influx of fashion forward shoppers. Thanks to Anderson’s aesthetic aptitude for design, these vintage looks are functional enough to be worn casually as well as occasionally. Her price points are reasonable as well. For instance, a teal corset blouse is priced at $165 along with a calf length brown skirt that is priced at $ 185; the “Juliet” lace dress is priced at $350 and a gorgeous olive-toned cami goes for $115.

Anderson’s complimenting silhouettes are hot sellers, with new editions included to the collection every two weeks. Orders for garments can also be placed online through the designer’s website.
