Orchard Street (Between Houston and Stanton)

Taking it to the Streets

If you have been buried under a rock, you might not know that Orchard Street, home to Jewish push cart peddlers in the not-so-distant past, is now home to a different kind of street peddler – designers of avant guard fashion. And on Sunday, Apollo Braun and friends hit the streets, hosting their own red carpet show and celebrating free expression of every form.

New York Cool photographer, Krisztina Fazekas, was one of the participants, enjoying both the fashions and the upbeat crowd of young fashionistas who had flocked down town for the fun. Participating Lower East Side boutiques included: Frock, Hairy Mary’s Vintage, Lolli by Reincarnation, Lost Shoe Productions, and Apollo Braun. Designers to be showcased also include: Lola's Rags, Gio D.'S by Giovanni D'Angelo (www.giodproductions.com), Francesca Kaplan, Nice by Steven Day, Kahri Anne Kerr, WendeeDiamond.com, The House of Sir Charles, Hillary Flowers, Tara LeClaire and Doron Braunshtein. For more on Apollo Braun, log onto www.apollobraun.com. Enjoy!
