For over a century, Gola has been the stalwart
of the sportswear industry, catering to the needs
of champion athletes worldwide with products that
offer the necessary comfort and support that are
essential for playing hard. In honor of their centennial,
Gola hosted an exhibit at the Soho Bloomingdales
titled, Gola at 101: Faces and Memories of Centenarians.
Acclaimed British photographer Edmund Clark created
this exhibit to pay homage to those lucky few who
have reached the remarkable age of one hundred and
to honor the strength and longevity of the human
spirit.

Edmund Clark stated, “ The over-all spirit
of the subjects in this exhibition was truly inspiring
and I tried to capture the essence of their strength
and longevity of these people by portraying them
in the context of their environments. These are
people who have lived through wars, depressions
… periods in history that were both good
and not so good.”
During the event, guests mingled
and browsed the exhibit while sipping Agua Luca,
a sugar-cane-based Brazilian rum, and nibbling on
the hors d’oeuvres that were consistently
ushered through the department.
And what would any exhibit in
Bloomingdales be without a sneak peek of the latest
looks in fashion? Gola’s latest line of men’s
footwear comes in a variety of bold and subtle colors;
they definitely bridge the gap between high style
and function.
