Yana Gorbulsky
From Russia with Love

Written by Keith C. Smith

Yana Gorbulsky is living proof that talent hides behind every corner in New York. Yana's family came to this country from Russia when she was only four years old. As a small child, Yana designed doll clothes from fabric scraps. By the time she entered High School, Yana was making her own clothing in an attempt to stand out from the crowd. Her outfits got a lot of attention and soon she was barraged by offers from people who wanted to buy her clothes.

Despite the attention it gained her, and the obvious success of her designs, Yana was at first reluctant to follow a career in fashion, “I had mixed feelings about doing it professionally, but when I see how I make people feel, I want to keep doing it.”

Now, Yana works full time on her designs at her home studio in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. And as a truly assimilated American, she sells her line on EBay. If you’d like to see more of Yana’s creations, or want one for yourself, you can check out more of her designs on her website, www.supayana.com
