CARTIER CELEBRATES THIS SPRING WITH A REVIVAL OF THE LOVE BRACELET

Written by Janet Perisa

You can lock me up and throw away the key!

According to the zodiac, the New Year does not begin until the first signs of rebirth spring from the earth in a blaze of euphoria and color. While most people pledge resolutions and promises to themselves and loved ones on January 1 st, celebs and style gurus have recently been spotted wearing one of Cartier’s most infamously cherished symbols of commitment, strength, and virtue.

This past April, Cartier marked the season of renewal with a revival of their “Love Bracelet,” a two-piece bracelet that is fastened around the wrist with an 18-carat gold bolt and ornamental screwdriver. The late designer, Aldo Cipullo, who had joined Cartier’s luxury design team six months prior to the bracelet’s creation, designed the Love Bracelet during the revolutionary “Summer of Love.” The premise behind the bolted bangle was to signify a sealed commitment between lovers, thus strengthening their devotion for one another.

Today, celebrities such as hip-hop diva, Mary J. Blige, Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Foxx, and Michelle Williams are adorning their wrists with the Love Bracelet. This prestigious symbol of love comes in both 18-carat yellow and white gold, and is the perfect way to seal a commitment with your significant other, or a promise to the most beautiful and worthy of all—yourself.

Retail prices for the Love Bracelet start at $2975 and can be purchased at Cartier’s 5th avenue store. You can view the Love Bracelet online at www.cartier.com.
