The debut
album from Jersey City’s The 303s, "Lines
of Parallel Minds," is both daring and introspective.
The album's electronic guitar rock, blended with
the complex and sensual vocals of Ingrid Dahl, creates
an emotional rollercoaster in the listener. Together
Ingrid Dahl and Parixit Davé have created
a muscular alternative to Sigur Ros, while still
maintaining a sensitivity rarely be found among
industrial rock bands.
The 303s,
"Lines of Parallel Minds," may be the
next big thing. Producer Stephen Hindman has produced
an album that has an industrial vibe and echoes
the sounds of bands like the Cure and Architecture
in Helsinki. The 303's music is filled with sounds
that are both risky and imaginative; it is a textbook
case on how to make experimentation flow through
sound. The album is hip, young and complex with
a hypnotic pulse. With a sound not unlike that heard
in Britain in the early 80’s, the 303’s
may be the first band to reinvent the “new-age”
sound.
Ingrid and Patrixit met at Rutgers
University and they have had a love affair with
their instruments and minds ever since. Their intimate
relationship has spawned a beautiful twelve track
offspring. So keep a close eye on this duo as they
push the boundaries of what is to be expected of
new bands. The time to listen is now.
