Opening Night Party Hip Hop Culture Center in Harlem2309 Frederick Douglass Blvd

On Thursday, October 13, 2006, Global Artists Coalition hosted a party to celebrate the temporary (October 12-17 th) Hip Hop Museum installation at the Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem. On display were rare hip-hop handbills and snapshots of the emerging rap scene by photojournalist Jamel Shabazz.

Kicking off the event was a showing of the award winning film Music is my life, Politics my Mistress. The Story of Oscar Brown Jr.  by filmmaker donnie l. betts (http://www.musicismylife.info). Donnie was there in person for a Q/A session. Also present  were AM Radio Project Art work  MBILASHAKA Graffiti Artists capturing  the mood, sounds and electricity of the environment,  live!
