With the holidays just around the corner, shoppers should keep in mind the old adage that all good things come in small packages - especially those “good” shimmering things that come enclosed in tiny black velvet boxes. But if “good things” don’t quite make the grade for you, the very “best things” are found in the robin’s egg blue boxes from Tiffany & Co..
Tiffany & Co., America’s leading jewelers for more than a century, has recently released their 2007 Blue Book Collection, featuring a lavish variety of flawless gemstones mounted in their signature platinum settings.
“The Blue Book is where we showcase our most spectacular gemstone designs, our finest and most important jewelry of the year. We have amassed a most extraordinary collection for 2007, one that we are very proud of,” said Tiffany & Co.’s chief gemologist, Melvyn Kirtley.
While Tiffany’s legendary collection of diamonds continues to reign supreme (like the multi-cut diamond necklace which boasts a twenty-seven carat emerald-cut diamond in its center), the latest collection features more colorful gems. The Art Deco-style pave-link drop pendants feature blush Morganite and Aquamarine gems set with lush green Tourmalines. Rare conch pearls and sapphires ranging in hue from peach to fiery-blue are utilized in shimmering chandelier earrings, medallions and brooches.

Blue Book 2007 also features exquisite Amethyst and Citrine pieces by Paloma Picasso and Jean Schlumberger’s Lotus Bracelet made from rich green enamel, Lapis and smooth unfaceted Sapphires.
