On Wednesday, September 6th,
right on the cusp of Olympus Fashion Week, MAO Magazine
held its semi-annual Fashion Week launch party at
Exit Art. And in honor of the fun to the come, MAO
Magazine’s spring ’07 issue cover girl
was none other than Barbie herself!
This is not Miss
Wendy, just some random impersonator
named
Amber Rae
Celebrity guests
included: Patricia Field; Isabel and Ruben Toledo;
former Project Runway contestant, Kara Janx; and
designer Kati Stern.

“Fortunately and
unfortunately, I will be flying to South Africa
next week and will miss [Olympus Fashion Week].
Fortunately, because I will be missing-out on all
of the madness, and unfortunately because I will
be missing-out on all the madness,” said Janx.

Some of the City’s
most eccentrically dressed partygoers schmoozed
their way through the crowded venue sipping floating
on an endless flow of champagne and raspberry vodka.
Mr. Wilson DJ Chan seduced the party with a compilation
of sexy rhythms and famed drag performer Joey Arias
tickled the crowd with her sultry voiced comical
performance; she left the crowd cheering for an
encore.
