New York Cool Photographer Al McCotter caught the Marie Marie show and took these photos. The show looks like it was a total hoot; the mannequins appeared to walk the runway, peer into mirrors and have conversations with each other.

But if you would like to know a little about the line, here is a quote from thei press release: " Marie Marie started out simply. Jada Marie Simons and Alicia Marie Arena met in university where they both studied design. After perusing separate careers, Jada in Miami and Alicia in New York, they met up again at Donna Karen in New York. The two talented young ladies began piecing together tops on summer Fridays and a new clothing label, which would go on to become synonymous with hip New York style, was born. In spring of 2006 the line evolved from pitch-perfect tops to elegant, sublimely modern dresses inspired by 1950’s glam and Mark Rothko’s stark canvases.

Marie Marie concentrates on beautiful lines, drape and flow rather than frivolous embellishments. High quality fabrics such as a signature viscose jersey, developed specifically for the line with the help of a mill in Italy; silks and wool/cotton blends are used to achieve a luxurious esthetic. Pieces are tailored with shapely seams, knots, pleats and gathers which skim over curves rather than clinging. The result is a highly polished old-Hollywood glamour."
