On the evening of March 21st,
some of Basketball’s hottest all-stars brought
new meaning to the word dribble during the 2007
Court-ture fashion show. While the event was hosted
by Victoria’s Secrets model Frederique Van
Der Wal, all eyes were glued to players Antoine
Wright, Kenyon Martin, Channing Frye, David Lee,
Jared Jeffries and the legendary, Walt “Clyde”
Frazier, who made their first runway appearances
in the lower level of the NBA’s Fifth Avenue
Store. The good sports traded in their jerseys and
donned designer duds provided by Kenneth Cole, Burberry,
and Tommy Bahama. The show began with Frazier who
wore a tailored ivory suit topped with a matching
fedora. And while his smooth struts down the catwalk
received a thunderous applause from the hordes of
players, fans, and fashionistas crammed into the
court-sized retail space, it was pro player Jared
Jeffries’s shy smile that stole the show.
The event was held in promotion of the NBA’s
latest collaboration with celebrity and athlete
fashion stylist, Jared M. and Big and Tall retailers,
and will be targeting the 6 ft.-and-up male markets
for sophisticated sportswear.
