Max Azria's signature
collection followed the Fall 2007 Fashion Week trend
of showing a line of neutral tones in grey, brown
and black with occasional dashes of muted grey-greens
and golds (after all, it is for fall).
There were flirty knee-length skirts paired with
slouchy jackets and voluminous sweaters topped by
even more voluminous overdresses. And to add a bit
of dazzle, Azria pumped up his collection with some
hot little metallic tops and cocktail dresses.
This is a very wearable and fun
collection. It has an esthetic of "I was in
a hurry so I just grabbed the first thing in my
closet [but you would die for what's in my closet]."
Of especial note was the
metallic cocktail dress worn with a menswear plaid
coat and topped off by a fur hat. Now, that is a
look that would stop traffic on Portobello Road
and Ludlow Street.
