Taking ARAKS anywhere
On February 4, 2007 Araks Yeramyan,
“ARAKS”, taught the world how to wear
gray. And if you didn’t think it could be
sexy, Araks begs to differ. In stormy straight slacks
and bold bright colors models walked the runway,
their blustery hair adding a sultry edge to soft
velvet jackets and pencil cut skirts.
Araks entered the industry in
2000, designing women’s intimates. She eventually
expanded to include women’s ready-to-wear
clothes that are characterized not only by their
comfort but their femininity. Her fans include Sara
Jessica Parker, Sofia Coppola, Michelle Williams,
and Kirsten Dunst to name a few.
Her Spring 2007 collection, which
was shown in Manhattan’s Altman Building,
paired rich woollen grays with purple, fushia, and
silver blouses. Relaxed cuts, and light airy fabrics
proved both Araks penchant for comfort and talent
for trend. Also evident was the versatility of the
line. You could just picture a warm evening by the
fire in an oversized knit sweater or an elegant
dinner in an aqua blouse, and perfectly fitted two-toned
knee-length silk skirt.
Araks makes you want to go places,
do things, because, after all, you can take her
just about anywhere.
