It was a fashionable holiday season this year, filled with shows and parties. One of the invitations that I received was from Nicole Young from Factory PR, “I am excited to invite you to Vlassis Holevas' first US trunk show. The collection is an elegant, sensual and sophisticated collection of Evening and RTW. Vlassis Holevas is one of the most respected designers for Greece's most prestigious families and is gathering a significant cult following here.”

Vlassis Holevas and Models

Vlassis Holevas showed at Bryan Park in September and I was unable to attend his show, so this was a great opportunity to check out the buzz that is surrounding this hot (and I do mean hot) young designer who is quite in demand for red carpet gowns. So New York Cool photographer Lesny JN Felix and I were off to check it out.

The Penthouse was softly lit with candle light in the windows looking down on the ice skaters in Bryan Park, twenty-four floors below. The room was filled with fans, fashionistas and the stylist denizens of the fashion world. It was a lovely party and a beautiful holiday night. .

Holevas has designed an exquisite collection of evening dresses with seas of pink and blue illusion and intricate beaded detailing. This was Holevas’ spring through pre-fall collection and all the dresses had a light airy feel. The model’s faces were lightly made up, a natural face with just a touch of lip gloss and blush, and their hair was pulled straight back so not to compete with the beauty of the dresses.

Bravo to Holevas for a lovely collection!
