Senator John McCain made an “informal” announcement that he will be running for the Republican nomination for the Presidency at a taping of the David Letterman show on Wednsday February 28, 2007. He then traveled down the street to speak at the Republican Women’s Club, a shabby chic dowager of a hotel, where he was met by women with money and men in suits on the inside (no possibility of military service for their children) and irate grandmothers demonstrating against the war outside.
