Angel Devil is already a highly
sought line in Europe and on September 6th the line
staged its New York Fashion Week premiere at Bryant
Park Grill. Angel Devil was originally conceived
by Italian designer Riccardo Fusiello. Carmine Di
Sarno was brought on as the co-designer for the
most recent collection. Angel Devil's New York Fashion
week debut event was certainly the place to be;
it was attended by Anne Hathaway of The Devil
Wears Prada and Becoming Jane (see
our interview with Anne
Hathaway) and Patricia Field, the stylist for
Sex and the City.
The Bryant Park Grill was drenched
in a sea of bold red hues that simply oozed sensuality.
Every detail in this show stopping venue was impressive
and the line personified two distinct personality
traits; a little bit nice and a whole lot of naughty.
Models walked in scantily clad
pieces that were hot hot hot. Corset inspired tops,
sequins, and tons of sparkle electrified the runway.
Top hats and riding sticks played an important part
of the collection; these provocative accessories
lulled the crowd into a blissful state of seduction.
Oversized bags, zebra prints, and rivets screamed
look-at-me. Toward the end of the collection, the
line took on a slightly 1980’s feel with metallics
and buckled belts. The piece de résistance
was the gold mini dress with the asymmetrical wing
detail that drew gasps from the crowd. This gorgeous
garment lit up the runway, and it literally glowed
as it floated on the catwalk.
Angel Devil was edgy, daring,
and sexy. It was refreshing to see a line that mixed
playful clothing with a sophisticated sensibility.
The fashion flowed well, and the smoldering venue
defined the collection.
