The HSBC Bank recently played host to the B. Michael
Fashion House “Kaleidoscope” show. The
collection covered a lot of ground and embraced
a vast array of textures, colors, and fabrics. The
evening began with heavily structured, cotton pieces
in light colors. The line quickly progressed to
reinterpreted suit separates, as men’s and
women’s apparel was shown.
Slim fitting suits and dresses
in black and navy made strong statements, and a
coat dress was a real standout. In this section,
the designer played with cuff detailing and different
stitching techniques. The more sophisticated evening
wear in raffia and silk really sparkled, and the
crowd went wild when Mary Wilson, formerly of the
Supremes, strutted down the catwalk. Wilson really
put on a show as she donned the Celebration Garden
Gown in all cotton.
B. Michael Fashion House proved
that there was life beyond the coveted Tents. The
designer pulled together a comprehensive show with
forty-one looks.
