Attending a Betsey
Johnson New York Fashion Week show should top your
list of things to accomplish in this lifetime. Johnson
always puts on an elaborate performance and this
season she celebrated proms from the 1950’s
to present day.
Johnson’s
show rocked with inventive music that included
a delicious techno version of Mr. Sandman. The tents
were decked out in hot pink and black; intimate
tables filled with celebrities lined the runway.
A disco ball lit up the space as “tulled”
models flirted their way down the runway. These
sassy girls smiled and blew kisses, reflecting the
fun energy of the clothing.
Polka dots, prints, and texturized
fabrics made strong statements. This show was as
much about the clothing as it was about the experience.
Everything just flowed together to create an irresistible
afternoon of radiant fashion.
And, of course, the playful vixen
cartwheeled her way into our hearts after she tore
off her own dress. She revealed a Prom Queen tee-shirt,
and the audience went absolutely wild. Betsey Johnson
has done it again, and we can’t help but wonder
how she will wow us next season.
