Erin Fetherston is
unquestionably the it-girl of fashion and her spring
2008 collection, entitled Flights of Fancy, was
drenched in soft shapes and glamour. The emotional
space within the clothing called out to polished
drama with a haute, partyesque sensibility. The
sleek line romanced the tone of lyrical magic fraught
with ethereal and Greek goddess qualities.
The collection was
well edited with chic garments that reflected fairytale
brilliance. The color palette was steeped in ivory,
slate and moss which created a feeling of serenity.
Fetherston stepped away from her iconic baby dolls
and favored slim silhouettes this season. But she
did not sacrifice movement within the line. The
clothing floated effortlessly down the runway and
seemed to cast a spell of enchantment over the audience.
The pantsuit with
pin tucked details was particularly memorable and
the head pieces lent an artistic flair to the show.
The models were particularly fresh faced with soft
features that enhanced the clothing. Fetherston
girls all sported white lashes which further promoted
a dreamy quality that was ingeniously rooted in
reality.
Every garment
was an extension of Fetherston’s Flights of
Fancy vision which worked to achieve a collection
that was glossed in sophistication. This epic line
was full of cool intensions that were saturated
in everything beautiful.
