On September 11, 2007, Ghita designer, Alexis Phifer was the big apple of everybody’s eye. Aside from being Kanye West’s leading lady, this FIDM graduate from California was the toast of Fashion Week as celebs and fashionistas crammed the Metropolitan Pavillion for a sneak-peak of her latest collection. For spring 2008, Phifer presented a cohesive line of party dresses inspired by 80s glam, while transparent, orbital accessories and trim gave the collection a futuristic feel. Since the labels launch in 2005, Ghita (translated as gem of the sea) has been spotted on celebutant Paris Hilton and is sold out of high-end stores like Intermix and Henri Bendel.
