When I asked Jason Wu to describe his spring collection, he responds “elegant, messy yet beautiful, and quirky with a modern twist.” His focus was more on gowns this season, rather than short dresses.

Wu puts together an appealing and practical pairing of trench coats with skirts or dresses. It’s a look that can easily be spotted on a woman walking down 5th Avenue. Must-have pieces include a khaki belted trench dress, acid yellow dress with hand pleated bodice and an electric blue dress with black patent skinny belt. A nude and grey gown with hand washed chiffon skirt and red cummerbund, tan hand feathered gown, and a blush feathered gown with black cummerbund are all key choices to wear to the next New York social benefit.
