The promenade in
Bryant Park filled to the max with fashionistas,
photographers, celebs, and writers, Sunday afternoon
for a glimpse of Reem Acra’s Spring 2008 collection.
Lyrical music surged through the crowded tent as
seventeen models showcased Acra’s much anticipated
line. Known for her delicate and feminine wedding
dresses and evening gowns, Acra added a lovely twist
through the combination of daring color: purple
and yellow, green and purple, floral prints, hard
black and shimmery gold. Most of the outfits were
accompanied with a daring accessory—a purple
dress with a thick yellow belt. She also paired
airy, silk, see-through blouses with long, tapered
skirts of the same color, cinched together with
a belt of a different shade. Acra’s collection
culminated with sexier, more elaborate, regal pieces
with high collars and ruffles. Her collection proved
why she is so respected for her elegant work.
