Rosa Cha designer
Amir Slama is the Lewis Carroll of swimwear design;
his collections usually tell a surreal tale involving
a Brazilian beauty whose whimsical journey will
eventually land her partially nude on the runway.
But this latest line for Rosa Cha was more bohemian
than it was scandalous, Slama introduced a collection
composed of geometric cutout suits that sported
what appeared to be household gadgets. The color
palate ranged from shades of sweet melon to deeper
hues of blue, while nudes were used to create the
illusion of bare skin. The most flattering pieces
were the one piece, floral-print bathing suits and
the bias-cut cover-ups. While some of the designs
may have raised a few brows, Slama definitely earned
a few points for creativity, and a standing ovation
for making every straight man’s fantasy come
true.
