Miami favorite, Red Carter, took to the stage with a collection full of vintage glamour and elegance. Chosen as the Mercedes Benz Designer Presents for Miami Swim 2009, Red Carter was nervous about living up to the great expectations everyone had for the brands fourth collection. Once the music started and the first model appeared, you knew he had delivered... and then some. The models strutted down a wooden catwalk to jazz mixed with funky hip hop beats, giving the feeling of a modern speakeasy. Retro florals, ruffles, beading, and intricate details were prominent. Many of the 1920's "Flapperella" inspired designs were accessorized with large hats, pearls, or feathers- giving the show a real theatrical feel. When the show concluded, the audience erupted in applause and provided Red Carter with the only standing ovation of the week.
