Several words are
synonymous with superstar label Perry Ellis: preppy,
sophisticated, and functional. This brand has progressed
far beyond a typical menswear line to achieve an
iconic status that speaks to all age groups. And
this season’s collection furthered the Perry
Ellis image as one of an all American successful
male who likes to lounge around in fabulous ready-to-wear
threads.
For Fall of 2008, Ellis’s
line featured subtle tones of mossy olive, plum,
and tan that were toughened-up by statement making
hardware. The clothing was layered in wool, cashmere
and cotton. Special attention was given to the accessories
that gave versatility to the looks. Glossy looking
rain boots, messenger bags and scarves showed us
a Perry Ellis that is a lifestyle brand.
Creative director John Crocco
created a truly wearable and grounded line. It was
as if everything slowed down for a moment, and a
snapshot of classic America captured the audience.
