On June 23, 2008, Christo Fifth Avenue hosted the second annual Awaken the Beauty Within event. The proceeds from the day of beauty fundraiser benefit Iris House, Inc, a Center for Women Living with HIV/AIDS. Iris House provides services and advocacy for women, families and communities infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Iris house promotes prevention and educates clients and at risk communities.

The event offered complimentary hair and make-up touch ups, eyebrow threading and massages. While participating in the silent auction, attendees were able to sip on cocktails and enjoy Greek hors d’oeuvres catered by Aegean Cove, located in Astoria.

Christo also announced the winners of the first Annual Curly Hair Awards – Best Latin Artist Anais, Best Male Eduardo Verastegui, Singer Alicia Keys, Broadway Star Marcy Harriell, TV Personality Alison Stewart and Actress Sofia Milos.
