Rootstein Mannequins
held a party for both New York's uber cool fashionistas
and Rootstein's own most-fab-of-the-fab mannequins.
The party was in honor of the unveiling of the Agyness
Deyn Mannequin. Agyness Deyn is the recently-relocated-to-New-York
English model who has rocked the runway for the
past few seasons. With her classily beautiful face
and perfectly proportioned body topped by her signature
shock of short blonde hair, Deyn is the face of
the early 21st century.
Kevin Arpino, the artistic
director of Rootstein, had dressed and staged his
mannequins for the night’s festivities. Staged
in tableaus and lit with theatrical lights, these
live-sized dolls: played with light swords; were
encased in glass cages; and interacted with each
other in staged scenes. And like extras on a glorious
set, the partygoers flitted between the mist-filled
tableaus, adding their own brand of fabulousity
to the art of the magician, Kevin Aprino.
