MyItThings.com
held a runway show at Lotus Space on October 15,
2008, as each of the top three finalists of the
“It” Designer Contest showcased their
best five looks for Spring/Summer 2009. The competing
designers included Chicago’s Nora del Busto,
NYC’s Wakana Koike and Las Vegas’ Adolfo
Sanchez.
Adolfo Sanchez incorporates sheer

with silk in his designs, with colors in soft earth
tones, caramels and soft pinks.
Nora Del Busto is inspired by
traditional Peruvian costume, feminine with bold,
vibrant colors – fuchsia, turquoise and purple
in silk fabrics.
Wakana Koike is inspired by ropes,
ships, seagulls and the ocean. The printed palette
includes blue skies, white clouds, yellow sunsets
and red stripes. Koike uses silk and cotton canvas
fabrics.
