Designer Cho Cheng’s New York Library Fashion Show started fashion week Wednesday off at a bright and early 9:00 AM. Inspired by Tinsley Mortimer and the cast of Gossip Girls, the collection paid homage to the preppy-geek-chic look with shoulder pads and mini skirts. Overall, the silhouettes were kept sleek and simple with low ponytails and a glamorous point of view. Impeccably detailed suits in silk brocade with a ladylike sensibility rounded out a collection that emphasized whimsy interpreted in sumptuous textiles in everything from short walking suits to ball gowns.
