Designer Vlademar Iodice mixed color blocking with structure in his 2009 Spring collection. The inspiration was a combination of the mysteries of Atlantis crossed with both cosmopolitan socialites and a day at the beach. This Brazilian designer has always maintained that his clothing is intended for the sophisticated women of the jetset. And judging from Iodice's billowy ensembles, this jetsetter will literally be breezing down Park Avenue in a well tailored ocean of azure blues and sand colored flounces.

The line showed strong construction; the simplicity of the pieces was refreshing. Nothing was overworked, and the collection certainly updated architectural fashion with soft undercurrents of femininity. The designer achieved his goal of shrouding the line in mystery. Indeed, there was something haunting about the line that demanded further attention. It was a beautiful combination of strong graphics with sensual details.
