Graceful dresses
emphasized and exposed the female back. High necklines
mixed with flowing, floor-length dresses and plunging
necklines. Such was the scene at designer Joanna
Mastroianni's show.
The elegance of the eveningwear was both striking
and well-received in the Tents at Bryant Park for
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2009.
Model/actress/author Carol Alt and Page Six reporter
Cindy Adams sat in the first row to see the latest
from the clothing line with pieces worn by Sharon
Stone, Melanie Griffith, Susan Lucci and Michelle
Pfeiffer, who wore a sheer black dress in Tequila
Sunrise from Mastroianni's first collection.
Mastroianni used romantic materials: chiffon, silks,
and embroidered lace. Her color palette included
bright shades such as orange and yellow.
Her target clientele consists of young females who
adored the flirty cocktail dresses and classic style
of the spring collection.
