The Koi Suwannagate
Spring 2009 collection was inspired by the style
of the silent film star Louise Brooks. The updated
Twenties influence dazzled the audience and was
enhanced by healthy doses of Swarovski crystals.
Rosettes, sheer fabrics, and floaty shapes cast
a spell over showgoers, while cashmere separates
kept the line grounded. This fairy tale collection
was largely done in delicate pastels, but pops of
fuchsia lent an unexpected twist to a vintage butterfly
print that seamlessly appeared throughout the show.
Everything was so effortless and masterfully executed
that fashion emotions of optimism and love seemed
to be sparking in the air. The line was literally
poetry in motion, and the clothing conjured up images
of an ethereal dream. Heavily embellished pieces
along with floor length silk gowns were crowd favorites
that defined the show that felt more like a work
of art.
