Designer Zheng Lou
might not have been in the memory banks of many
Americans prior to the OmniaLou runway show on the
last day of New York Fashion Week. But that is all
ancient history now, because the OmniaLuo Spring
2009 collection was ridiculously beautiful. There
was a distinct return to pretty with gorgeous empire
dresses, delicate lady coats, and a flurry of pastels.
Even the gift bags were decked out in white and
pink – there was simply no detail left to
chance.
This breakout designer received
the Chinese CDFA award, and her strong attention
to detail has netted her more than $25 billion in
sales in Asia. The Tents at Bryant Park were the
perfect launching pad to catapult OmniaLou’s
airy looks into the American market. It appears
that pretty little things with a whimsical sensibility
and some lace trim will be all the rage next April.
