For Sping/Summer
2009, Ports 1961 designer Tia Cibani sent a collection
down the runway that reflected the line's Oriental
tradition (the Ports 1961 operation was based in
China until a few years ago). Utilizing lush fabrics
and luscious colors, Cibani created a smart sophisticated
line for fashionistas who take their tradition "straight
up with a twist."
Of particular note
was the use of soft metallic fabrics to add a note
of glitz. Also of note was the use of huge abstract
necklaces and "folly" hats. This collection
would be right at home showing at the Museum of
Modern Art.
Good job.
