Shumaq showed a line
of fun, funky and pretty frocks and rompers for
spring. Basics were interpreted in palette of taupes,
blacks and browns, with fun accent pieces in gold,
orange and blue. There was something for all the
daytime activities of the young and fun.
The Shumaq show was
sponsored by Cotten
Incorporated. Here is a quote from their press
release:
"Shumaq is an
up and coming clothing line and sister act by Peruvian
natives Vanessa Barrantes and her business partner
sister, Jacqueline Barrantes.
Barrantes has successfully carved
a sweet niche for herself as the go-to girl for
the ultimate cocktail dress or sophisticated skirts
that are ideal for the woman who celebrates her
beauty and wears her love of fashion on her sleeve.
The collection has quickly gained a following of
fashion minded twenty and thirty something professionals
in search of items that look and feel as expensive
as the couture seen in the latest high fashion magazines.
Vanessa Barrantes has also become
the fashion spokesperson for Cotton Incorporated's
Spanish-language consumer website www.LaTelaDeNuestrasVidas.com.
Watch for her to appear in a national media tour
through the end of August."
