At the very start of Spring 2009 Fashion Week, designer Zang Toi hosted a luncheon for Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin of The Real Housewives of New York City. And blending "real" reality with reality TV, the luncheon was filmed by Bravo for a segment of Housewives. The event was held at Zang's cupcake of an atelier on 57th Street and was a wondrous/glittery event with TV cameras, catering staff, make up artists and socialites all tossed together into what turned out to be amazing fun.

Zang and Jill Zarin (of Housewives fame) share a mutual friend, Brad Boles. If you watched the first season of Housewives (and how could you not?), Brad was Jill's friend who helped here when she had a dinner party for the Housewives (the one where Ramona was late - AGAIN). Zang is also a proud sponsor of cyclist Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Challenge (Zang has pledged 500,000 to the cause and if he makes his goal, Lance will ride in a race wearing one of Zang's signature kilts). Zang was hosting a luncheon benefit for the Race on September 11, 2008 at restaurant Daniel (check back for our coverage), so Zang with the help of Brad, Jill and the crew from Bravo TV hosted a pre/luncheon to honor the Housewives, the Livestrong Challenge and the September 11th benefit luncheon.

The guests for the event were Jill and Zang's real friends, many of whom came to the luncheon wearing Zang's designs. The luncheon tables were as frothy and charming (silver candelabra, lace and flowers) as Zang's line designs for Spring 2009. The guests were treated to a mini fashion show to preview the September 11th show. And adding one final element to the reality/reality TV mix, New York Cool was there to cover the laughter and fun. Because no one mixes glamour and joy like Zang.
