Narcisco Rodriguez
has environed a tough, sexy, androgynous fall for
2009. The styles are futuristically constructed
with strategically placed cut outs and form-fitting
wrapped straps of stretchy material in shades of
lime, orange and black. And since even the Rodriguez
customer occasionally needs a more conservative
look, he has included some beautifully made suits
and dresses colored from a neutral taupe palette.
Some
Fun Facts:
1. Narcisco Rodriguez began his career at Calvin
Klein where he befriended a fellow employee, Carolyn
Bessette. When Miss Bessette became engaged, she
asked her good friend, Narcisco, to design her
wedding dress. He did, she married John F. Kennedy
Jr. and they both instantly became super novas.
2. Rodriguez is a Cuban immigrant who grew up
in Newark, New Jersey. He is a very good friend
to fellow Cuban immigrants, the fashion designer
Isabel Toledo and her husband Ruben Toledo. Michelle
Obama wore a Rodriguez design when she appeared
with her husband and family at Grant Park in Chicago
just after the election was called. Mrs. Obama
wore a Isabel Toledo design to the inauguration.
