The Bomb Magazine,
a non-profit arts and culture publication, held
its 28th Anniversary Gala and Silent Auction on
April 17th 2009. The event, held at the National
Arts Club on Gramercy Park, featured a who’s
who of New York culture: Laurie Anderson; Lou
Reed; Laurie Simmons; and Carroll Dunham were
all present. Since the magazines' founding in
1981, its pages have featured contemporary international
artists chosen for their unique viewpoint fulfilling
The Bomb's mission of showcasing new and previously
unpublished art from many far reaching places
and genres. Many of these featured artists contributed
work for the evening's auction: Richard Serra;
Cindy Sherman; Tony Fitzpatrick; Mickalene Thomas;
and 55 others. It was a glamorous evening for
a great cause.
