The Berardi Winter
2011 collection was a combination of both masculine
and feminine design concepts. Tailored suit jackets
with tuxedo shirts referenced elements of classic
menswear, while velvet pants and button down shirtdresses
softened these masculine designs. Quite frankly,
it was shocking not to see one of the models slide
out onto the runway with a dress shirt and socks
like Tom Cruise. Aside from the menswear inspired
pieces, Berardi also showed pleated dresses, frills,
sequins, and florals, clearing up the confusion
that these were not men’s pieces. This collection
was so classic, commercial, and disappointing. The
most exciting part however was the hair that resembled
the hair of the mother from "Carrie",
frizzed out, crimped out, and crazy!
