Iodice's fall and
winter 2011 line was a blend of elegance, sophistication,
and personality. Inspired by the Amazon rainforest,
Iodice used printed fabrics featuring watercolors
of toucans, butterflies, and bold floral patterns;
taking this winter collection towards a more colorful
direction. Form fitted sequined cocktail dresses,
plunging necklines, a-symmetry, sharp angles and
lace created a modern elegance with sex appeal.
The collection also plays on the relationship between
man and nature. Accessories featuring geometric
metals, chains, and pyramid studs provided structure
and shine to his the organic pieces. Most innovative
in his collection was the leather coat with vine
and petal cut out shapes, cut not by hand but by
laser! Combining both natural and industrial elements
is still going strong in both fashion and architecture,
and will hopefully create a balance between nature
and machine.
