One
of the highlights of February 2010 Fashion Week
was Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief™
-Haiti NYC, 2010, a special runway event sponsored
by American Express to benefit the victims of the
recent Haiti earthquake. The proceeds of the tickets
sales were given to
CARE’s Haiti Relief Fund.
The event was hosted
by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and organized
by celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. Celebrities from
the worlds of acting and music walked the runway
wearing garments designed by fashion's top designers.
Many of the looks were by Alexander McQueen, including
the one worn by Daphne Guiness, McQueen's muse.
McQueen had committed suicide the day before and
his untimely death was on everyone's mind.
Model Agyness Deyn supplied comic relief to the
show when she stumbled to the floor, not once but
twice. Deyn finally picked up her Burberry shoes
and finished her runway walk in her bare feet.
Other designers featured
in the show were: Versace; Gucci; Christian Dior;
Burberry; Marc Jacobs; Donna Karan; Ralph Lauren;
Giorgio Armani; Dolce & Gabbana; Jean Paul Gaultier;
Tom Ford; Louis Vuitton; Manolo Blahnik; and Roberto
Cavalli. The looks seen on the runway will later
be auctioned online at NET-A-PORTER
beginning March 15, 2010.
The CFDA To Haiti
With Love tee shirt is available at various retailers
including Zappos.com
and Tory
Burch. All proceeds from the sale of the tee
shirt will be given to the Clinton Bush Haiti Relief
Fund.
