Five hundred and
fifty of Michael Musto's dearest and closest friends
showed up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of
Musto's Village Voice column, La
Dolce Musto. Party promoter Chip Duckett
(Lifebeat)
isused the invitation for the party that was hosted
by Joan Rivers (the real Ever Ready Battery Bunny)
and Michael Urie, a most un-ugly actor from
Ugly Betty.
The festivities
took place at the top of 230 Fifth Avenue (at
27th Street), a sexy two story party palace which
features a roof deck with a convenient rack of
red bathrobes to cover the near naked before their
venture out into the cold.
Musto started his
career by covering the cavorting at Studio 54
and the Studio spirit was live that night. All
of New York fabulousities were in attendance:
burlesque performers (Dirty Martini); female impersonators
(Tommy
Femia); drag queens galore (Epiphany, Sahara
Davenport); the fabulous fashion designers, The
Blonds; Broadway's Dame Edna (Scott Mason);
Robin Byrd; and over five hundred of Musto's nearest
and dearest.
It was old home
week for New York's fabled night life denizens
and the place to see and be seen.
