El Museo Del Barrio's
Young International Circle's annual Día
de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Halloween party
has become one of the city's most lively (pun
intended) events for New York City's Spaniards
and everyone who is either as good looking as
New York City's Spaniards or who likes to look
at them with the hope that their glamour will
rub off.
Miss Usa Rima Faki and
Miss Universe Ximena Navarratos
The party is a
visual feast with Dia de los Muertos themed entertainment
and beautiful young people dressed in their Halloween
best (more Mardi Gras than haunted house - no
fake blood here). The Tribeca Rooftop was decorated
in a Dia de los Muertos them and Mexican entertainers
performed for the crowd. And there was dancing;
this is a group that did not skip Cotillion.

According to the
press release from Jonathan Marder + Associates:
"Día de los Muertos [is] the traditional
Mexican celebration that honors loved ones that
have passed away. Based on the belief of the continuation
of life after death, the annual holiday commemorates
the beginning of a new stage in life, often including
altars displaying special food and flowers."
