For six days, beginning
March 25, 2011, the Park Avenue Armory was draped
with quilts - 650 beautiful red and white quilts
which were stunning lit for the maximum enjoyment
of the public who were invited to view the exhibit
free of charge.
The quilts were
on loan from collector Joanna S. Rose. Mrs. Rose's
husband generously financed the exhibit as a birthday
gift for his wife who when asked what she wished
for her birthday, replied "to share my quilts
with the city."
