Frances McDormand hosted a couscous dinner for The Wooster Group’s 2015 Benefit, on Monday, October 5th at The Performing Garage, 33 Wooster Street, NYC.

Guests that attended included George Ahl, Yesim Ak, Laurie Anderson, Paul Auster, Steve Buscemi, Sharon Bush, Joel Coen, Donna Corbat, Michael Corbat, Elizabeth Diller, Brian Farley, Robert Gober, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Laurie Hawkinson, Cynthia Hedstrom, Sam Hoffman, Siri Hustvedt, Elizabeth LeCompte, Robert Longo, Mateo Lopez, Frances McDormand, Gillian Miniter, Sylvester Miniter, Donald Moffett, Mark Morris, Peter Sarsgaard, Ricardo (Ric) Scofidio, Cindy Sherman, Maura Tierney, Kate Valk, and Martha Wainwright.

The benefit co-chairs were Laurie Anderson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, Juman Malouf and Wes Anderson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Norman Reedus, Maura Tierney, and Martha Wainwright.

The Benefit Committee included: George Ahl, Yesim Ak, Antonia and David Belt, Molly Davies, Bernard Dikman, Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio, Susan Feldman, Robert Gober and Donald Moffett, April Gornik and Eric Fischl, Laurie Hawkinson and Henry Smith-Miller, Siri Hustvedt and Paul Auster, Christine Larsen and Vincent Dopulos, Robert Longo, Jack Pierson, The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, David Salle, Cindy Sherman, Carole Shorenstein Hays / SF Curran, Casey Spooner, Michael Stipe, and Willard Taylor.

The group reassembled The Performing Garage to accommodate 100 guests for cocktails, dinner and a performance. Chef Alejandro Alcocer of Green Brown Orange served a menu that included a mixed hummus platter, arugula salad, satur farms vegetables tagine, roasted leg of lamb over couscous, and a lamb merguez.  Martha Wainwright sang Edith Piaf while guests dined on dessert.

The Wooster Group is a company of artists who make works for theater, dance, and media. They are based in New York City at The Performing Garage at 33 Wooster Street, where they develop and perform their work. The Group also performs at larger theaters in New York and their productions tour nationally and internationally.
