"Keep your head, heels and standards high," Coco Chanel.
It's Spring/Summer 2018 Fashion Week in New York City and and time for the Zang Toi Show.
First down the runway were Toi's interpretations of "The Rites of Spring" - a bevy of pale blue and white resort wear evocative of Biarritz in the 1930's. There was something for every taste and body type - snug short dresses and shorts for the Toi Story set followed by statement caftans and crisply tailored white pant ensembles.
Then it was on to a black, white and emerald green palette which both Parisian and Middle Eastern influences. The horizontally striped sweaters paired with tailored trousers were camera-ready ensembles to sport while grazing the smörgåsbords of the Rue De Passy. Toi's embroidered silk caftan tops paired with loose fitting trousers would be exquisite choices for diplomats and CEO's who travel to the Middle East and beyond.
Of particular note this year were the silk floor length dusters which were equally elegant floating over ball gowns and leggings. The dusters and the ball gowns were stunners.
Toi has dressed celebrities like Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Farrah Fawcett, Kristie Alley, Patti LaBelle, Gong Li, Eva Longoria, Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) and Heather Graham, and philanthropist Melinda Gates and Saudi Princess Haifa Bandar Al Saud.
Toi just opened his first retail location in New York City at 1046 Lexington Avenue in the Upper East Side. The new 800-square-foot store is a ode to luxury like Toi himself.
