Have you ever heard the name
Erick Morillo? If not, you are not a party person
who is mad for house music and dancing all night
in the club. And you are also not one of the 4200
people, who spent the night at Crobar on November
26th.
As a producer, Erick Morillo
has churned out tracks under a bewildering array
of pseudonyms (Ministers De la Funk, Pianoheadz,
RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate
and Lil Mo Ying Yang to name but a few). As a DJ,
Erick has played the world over from his base in
New York - to Los Angeles - to Ibiza, Greece and
beyond. As an artist, he's making headlines the
world over, in press, on radio and on television.
Working with top-name artists, Erick Morillo is
taking house music to the next level, with the
aim to make it as big as hip hop.
After a weekend in Amsterdam
and Utrecht in Holland, and Naples in Italy, a
Thanksgiving break with family eating turkey and
watching football, Erick Morillo was playing his
first non after hours set in eons on the 26th of
November at Crobar. And this time the audience
could meet him face-to-face, because he was DJ’ing
from the stage, not the DJ booth. And this contact
was important to both the fans and to Erick. He
waved and smiled to the people on the dance floor
as if everyone was a personal friend. The clubbers
were entranced, so much so that sometimes they
forgot to dance and just stood there watching him.
