Happy Halloween to all of you freaky boys and ghouls out there in Internet land. Welcome to another installation of my NYC nightlife report!

D J Jackie Christie

Halloween in NYC this year was off the hook, but before I dive in that madness, I want to say just a few words about a show I was at earlier in the month - a release party for DJ Jackie Christie. Held at the infamous Discotheque, DJ JC (does have same initials as the Jesus, but not the same person… although she a few of her mixes could have saved my soul) had the club pumping. For me the best moment of the night was around 1am, when DJ Jackie Christie was spinning some dope music with a lot of bass, and there was this Cuban looking guy with his shirt off and he was just twisting and shaking it to the music…memories, like the corners of my mind..ahh.

Well back to reality and to psuedo reality. Halloween in New York is something I think everyone should experience at least once in their life. My Halloween started on Friday night at Shelter where the Smack party was happening this year. Smack is one of the biggest fetish parties in NYC, and it is always so much fun. Shelter is usually one of the best places in all the boros to go and get down to some kick ass house music (mind you, its only open on the weekend), but the space was transformed into a very scary yet erotic play land on the 29th. I saw a few people I love at this party, one of whom was Misfit (clubkid, costumer, friend) who was dressed in a gothic leather outfit and had the best makeup at the party. On a side note, Misfit also makes wonderful custom fangs, I had a pair made for me, and they are so sexy!

Well on Saturday, after recouping (and healing) from the Smack party, I went to two awesome events. The first was a benefit for the Stonewall Foundation, which was hosted by Don Harley who is the Director of Volunteers for Heritage of Pride's Dance on the Pier. It was a great party and it was full of the yummiest boys. I actually ran into this gorgeous guy name Kevin who I hadn't seen in years. I met him my freshman year of college at Manhattanville College, and he was always a blast. He had a killer outfit on, consisting of a waistcoat, heels, and very smart scarf. We danced and made merry, while at the same time supporting a wonderful gay organization. Don's parties are an institution and I was so very pleased to have attended.

So, it was around 1:30am or so that I finally ripped my self away from the cutie bartender at the Stonewall Benefit, and made my way over to Spirit to see some friends perform.

My dear friend Anim-a-mus was performing with P-Cult on Saturday at Spirit, and they put on such an amazing show. Flambeau is the leader of this troupe and let me say every time I see them perform I am awestruck. In short the whole cast has the most wonderful costumes, so eclectic and original, they are unlike anything else in the city. Anim-a-mus and Flambeau do fire art that leaves you in plain terms..horny! They have a great dynamic together and at one point people in the audience where yelling and howling for more! http://www.pcult.com/.

Finally, at long last, it was on Halloween and I was psyched! This year I went as a gay Shaman. I made the whole costume myself (it took weeks, sorry I have no pic, but Iwill get one later). A few friends and I were in the Village Halloween parade, which as always is a blast! Picture it, I was a gay shaman all in sparkling black, and I was with a Drag Devil, a gay Peter Pan, and an Anime Burlesque grrl…oh how I love Halloween!

We romped all over the West Village for a few hours, posing for paparazzi and getting more and more fucked up as the night drew on. Around 2am we made it over to Lucky Chengs Halloween party. Although we missed the Pontani Sisters burlesque act, we did get there for a kick-ass Halloween karaoke contest.

Our Halloween Adventure ended at the "Motherf..ker" party, which was at Spirit (I think I spent more time at Spirit this weekend then I have in months). Michael T mixed some great music and in all truth we were all so wasted it wouldn't have matter if somebody was whistling Dixie, we would have loved it. All the true partiers were still out and having a blast, "Motherf..ker" pulled through with another great party.

I ended my Halloween Weekend Odyssey in the arms of a zombie who really knew how to kiss and only bit me gently. I have said it before and I will say it again….I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
